Another Bay Area artist, landscape painter Joseph Oddo, will have his opening reception on Thursday at Alemany Library from 6-8 p.m. He will give an artist talk on Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 2:30-4 p.m. and his paintings are on display through Oct. 18.
The purpose of the Karen Haas art exhibit and other University community exhibitions is to create an environment that nurtures initiative and creativity, and to serve our students and our community.
Born in a small, rural town in Pennsylvania, Haas has served on the board of the South Bay Women’s Caucus for Art and was founding editor of “A Journal of Art Criticism.” Since 1999, she has been teaching painting at the Sunnyvale Community Center. Her current art subjects are depictions of public life.
Free parking for the opening reception to honor Oddo and Haas’ exhibitions is available at the Conlan Center at the intersection of Grand and Acacia avenues in San Rafael.
