The AIDS Memorial Quilt was founded in 1987. Each "block" (or section) of the quilt measures approximately twelve feet square, and a typical block consists of eight individual three foot by six-foot panels sewn together. Virtually every one of the more than 40,000 colorful panels that make up the Quilt memorializes the life of a person lost to AIDS.
The quilt will be available for public viewing from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in the Creekside Room.
The event is sponsored by Dominican’s Service-Learning Program, in association with the Marin AIDS Project and the Marin County Department of Health and Human Services, HIV Testing Program. For more information, call 415-457-2487.
