AIDS Memorial Quilt on Display
A portion of The AIDS Memorial Quilt will be on display at Dominican University of California on World AIDS Day, Friday, December 1.
The AIDS Memorial Quilt was founded in 1987. Each "block" (or section) of the quilt measures approximately twelve feet square, and a typical block consists of eight individual three foot by six-foot panels sewn together. Virtually every one of the more than 40,000 colorful panels that make up the Quilt memorializes the life of a person lost to AIDS.
The quilt will be available for public viewing from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in the Creekside Room.
The event is sponsored by Dominican’s Service-Learning Program, in association with the Marin AIDS Project and the Marin County Department of Health and Human Services, HIV Testing Program.
