P.R.I.D.E.

Mission

P.R.I.D.E. (People Respecting Identities Demanding Equality) is a student organization with a mission to provide education, support, and social opportunities for members of the Dominican University of California Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Ally (LGBTA) community. P.R.I.D.E. is open to all students and members of the Dominican University of California community, regardless of their sexual or affectional orientation or gender identity. P.R.I.D.E. sponsors and leads events on campus as well as activites and field trips with members to better build connection and community.

Goals

  • increase the awarenss within the greater campus community on LGBTA issues
  • support members of the community who are coming to accept their own sexual orientation and or gender identity provide a source to safe and supportive social interaction
  • strive to eliminate heterosexism and homophobia on our campus
  • provide resources, information, and support to all students wishing to become involved in the LGBTA community
