Dominican Student Occupational Therapy Association (DSOTA) is an organization that has been created to increase awareness and knowledge of the profession of occupational therapy and the maintenance of health. The members of DSOTA will engage in educational, social, and fund raising activities that will contribute to the members, Dominican University of California, and the Marin County community.
Occupational therapy is the therapeutic use of self-care, work, and recreational activities to increase independent function, enhance development, and prevent disability; may include adaptation of tasks or environment to achieve maximum independence and optimal quality of life.
Meetings are scheduled at the start of each semester and with the input of DSOTA members. For the Spring of 2011, DSOTA meets the first Wednesday of every month in room Guzman 111. Meetings last no longer than one hour and everyone is welcome to attend meetings.
