Dominican Athletics

Dominican athletics has dramatically upgraded its facilities and level of competition and stature.

The Conlan Center is a state-of-the-art athletics center complete with gymnasium, weight room, the Catherine Brisbois Memorial Swimming Pool, and other modern conveniences. The weight room went through an extensive overall in the summer of 2014 and now features brand new equipment. The John F. Allen Athletics Complex, opened in 2012, includes Kennelly Field – a multi-purpose synthetic turf field with scoreboard, new tennis courts, bathrooms, and parking spaces.

Dominican sponsors 11 intercollegiate sports and is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II and the Pacific West Conference, the largest conference in the NCAA Division II West Region.

Until 2009, Dominican was a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Division II and the California Pacific Conference.

The Dominican mascot has been the Penguins since the student body voted to change the school’s nickname to honor the Dominican Sisters in the mid-1970s. Be sure to say hi to Chilly the next time you're at a game and be sure to add him as a friend on Facebook.
