January 26th- Ping-Pong Tournament- Many of DU's regular Intramural participators came out for the big Ping Pong Tournament in Conlan. Among the competitors were Chris Souza, Clayton Schuster, Jeremy Boucher, John Slamkowski, and Brett Poncia. However these men couldn't beat out the day's best competitor, Martha Stoddard. Martha, a senior nursing major definitely showed her stuff against some worthy opponents. It seems she may have put her DU Tennis Team skills in to use. Congratulations Martha on your win in the tournament!

What are Intramurals and Leisure Activities?

What are Intramurals?

As one of three facets to the Rec. Sports and Activities program, Intramurals can simply be defined as organized activities that do not require a faculty representative or instruction.  See below for the Intramural Activities offered at Dominican University of California.

What are Leisure Activities

Leisure activities can be classified as any type of activity a student can do on their own without instruction.  Some indoor Leisure activities, such as foosball, billiards and table tennis, can be played in the Student Union anytime day or night, while other indoor activities that require more space and equipment, such as basketball, dodgeball and volleyball, can be played in the Conlan Center Gym during Open Gym Hours or from 9 p.m. to midnight on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Outdoor activities can be played on the Library Lawn anytime day or night, assuming equipment is not needed, or on Saturday and Sunday when the “Cart O’ Anti-Lameness” will be rolled out from noon to 6 p.m. providing all the choices you need, including wiffle ball, kickball, football, badminton, volleyball, Frisbee and many more.

Cart O' Anti-Lameness

The Cart O’ Anti-Lameness is a yellow and black laundry cart that houses all the equipment and supplies needed for Leisure Activities on the Library Lawn.  Every Saturday and Sunday at noon a member of our Rec. Sports and Activities Support Staff will roll the cart to the Library Lawn so that students can show up whenever they please to play more than a dozen games at their “leisure.”  We hope that as our Support Staff grows, we will be able to roll the Cart O’ Anti-Lameness to the Library Lawn every day of the week.  With increased demand, we will add a second cart for Anne Hathaway Lawn.
