Our mission is to prepare teachers to become student-centered educators who ground their practice in current educational theory, work collaboratively, exhibit sensitivity to culture and community, and demonstrate continuous professional development
If you have been thinking about becoming a teacher, or advancing your career as an education professional, let the Ukiah Center help you realize your dream. The Ukiah Center was established in 1984, and today hundreds of the Center’s graduates are teaching in local schools in Mendocino, Lake, and Sonoma counties.
The Ukiah Center is conveniently located at the Mendocino County Office of Education. We offer an innovative and highly-regarded curriculum, high-quality instruction, small class sizes, personalized attention, and a supportive learning community. Students will learn from instructors who are classroom experts and know local school, district, and county cultures.
The Ukiah Center offers:
All teacher preparation programs are offered in two formats: a two-semester student teaching program and a four-semester internship program. Classes are held during the evening and on weekends to meet the needs of working adults or adults who are changing careers. Learn about our Admissions Requirements.
