Summer, Summer, Summer Time!

Leighia - Monday, 11 May, 2009 - So this is my last blog of the school year. The last semester has gone by so fast, that I pretty much can’t even describe how fun & exciting it was.

Hello All,

I can’t believe that I am half way done with my College career, it’s amazing! I have officially finished all my finals & ready to make the longest (but most exciting) drive home ever. I will be leaving on Sat, and that couldn’t come soon enough. This past year, has been filled with many great memories.

--Spring Soccer Season was a great learning experience for our team, overall we didn’t do too well, but we were able to compete with many Division 1 and 2 schools J

--My classes this year were some of the most interesting I have ever had. From the Natural History of California to Geometry Explorations. 17 units definitely kicked my butt, but hard work pays off & I’m looking at a 4.0 for this semester.

--I have completed my first year as an Ambassador! Being an ambassador has made my life that much more busy, but that much more fun. I loved giving tours to families & even received Ambassador of the Month for April. Not only are tours amazing but working in the office with my co-workers makes the night go by fast! (You should apply to be an ambassador)

--As of last week I have completed another year on ASDU, which also was an experience I will never forget. From the tie-dye social to our Penguin Ball. Penguin Ball was a night were everyone dressed up in their finest & headed to the gym, which was decorated like an igloo & danced the night away. Students had a great time relaxing before finals. This is my last year on ASDU, but it was one where I left with a family!

--Although, I am no longer active in ASDU I will be an RA (Resident Advisor) next year in PENNAFORT!!! YAY, I am so excited to embark on this new experience. I hope to be an RA that all students can come to anytime. Trust me if you are on my floor, or even if you live in Fanjeaux you will have fun on my hall. Being an RA is bitter sweet, because I lose my roommate of two years Monica, but I still get my own room. However, I’m sure many of you will always be over to fulfill my loneliest.

--So Summer is here and clearly I couldn’t be more excited! My plans for the summer—Well first I would like to get home & relax for at least a day without mom or pops nagging me, but I’m pretty that won’t happen. Lol. However, I will have to weeks of family and friends before heading back to DU. this summer I will be an On-Site Coordinator for the LeaderShape conference. Which is a leadership seminar held on our campus for 6 days. After I leave here, I will be getting on a plane and heading to the Dominican Republic for a 7 day cruise with my family! After returning I will end the summer with summer school L not too exciting, but it’s an ART class so ill have the chance to be creative. With that month, I will have many small road trips & parties to attend with the best friends and family Of course this summer will include training for soccer & lots of fun!!
