Europe, here we come!
Elizabeth - Thursday, May 21, 2008 - School has been out for about a week now, and after moving back home I have most of my stuff put away! Moving out can be a bit of a pain...especially when you realize how everything seems to multiply during the school year! Maybe it was all those trips to Target... This summer, I’m going to miss everyone at DU so much, but am looking forward to both my trips!
My sophomore year was a blast—lots of crazy nights and fun weekends with my friends. It is so weird how people you get to know in college become sort of a family. There’s a Facebook bumper sticker that says “we left our families to live with strangers, and now we left family to go home,” and I really don’t know what could be more true! Although I know summer will fly by and we’ll be right back at school, I’m still missing a lot of the people from my hall!
I can’t even believe it—after ten months of planning and getting ready, I’m finally on my way to London, Paris and Rome today!! Last July, my two best friends and I decided to spend the first part of this summer break abroad, and now we’re finally on our way! I’m so excited to have finished packing, now all there is to worry about is making it to the airport on time.
This summer is going to be really busy, but I’m looking forward to all of it! After we get home from Europe, I’m going to the Kenny Chesney Poets and Pirates show at AT&T Park, then a cruise to Canada and Alaska with my family! When I’m home from all of that, I’ll post another blog. I’m also doing one of my internships this summer at KRTY, a country radio station in San Jose. I’ve loved it so far, and have been enjoying perks of the job like going to a bunch of concerts! So far, I’ve been able to see George Strait, Little Bigtown, Rascal Flatts and Taylor Swift. KRTY does a lot of concerts with newer artists too, and their calendar for this summer looks amazing! We also get to go out and staff all of the station remotes, so when DJs are making appearances at different locations or there are “enter to win” locations, we get to work those too.
