Midnight Madness
David-Monday, May 12, 2008- A tradition at Dominican that's occurs every semester before finals. I will talk about my experience with being hypnotized for the second time.
It's almost the end of the year and I am getting ready to pack up my belongings and head to San Diego! But before I head for San Diego, I will be traveling to the Galapagos! Words can not express how excited I am about this trip but I am not looking forward to waking up at 3:30 AM to head to SFO airport. The traveling itself is going to be a bore.
Midnight Madness is such a fun experience for any Dominican Students. This event occurs every semester, a day before finals begin. Usually in the fall, we have a comedian put a show on for students and the fall, we always being a hypnotist. While these shows are going on, students are able to have a breakfast meal at 10 PM for free! It's a great event to bring all Dominican students, staff, and faculty together to build community!
This time around, we had a well known hypnotist, Tom DeLuca, host a wonderful and fun show! Like last year, I was under hypnosis! My experience in the past being under was not so good. It took such a long time for me to get out of it but this time, I had a pleasant experience! I really don't remember what I did in the beginning of the show other than being friends with an apple and banana. Here's the scoop: Tom an apple and a banana in his hand and he said when I wake up, I will try to save the banana and the apple from being eaten because they have feelings and are my friends. As Tom was about to eat them, I grabbed them away from him and hide them under my shirt. He would then try to come toward them but I would give him a dirty look. Well he proceeded to "play" with my but this time, he was really mean...Haha. He then told me when I wake up, I am going to be really hungry and eat my friends and totally forget that they have feelings etc... Well I wake up, and he says hungry, and I begin eating the banana and the apple. He sees that I am eating them and then he asks me "What are you doing? I thought they were you friends?" and I reply "I don't care, I'm really hungry!" I continue eating them and then he tells me, now you remember they are your friends and you realize what you did and you are devastated...So I spit out what I had in my mouth and start trying to mend the piece of the apple. Then he told me to give it CPR so I did and then he said the apple is coming back to life and I said I was a hero and a doctor for being my apple who was the survivor back to life.
I had a great time with this show and I can't wait for next springs midnight madness! Well, this is my last blog until the summer! My next blog will be about Galapagos and other stuff that's going on during the summer!
:-D
