Spring Fever
Amanda-Tuesday, April 15, 2008- School has been stressful, with the short amount of 3 weeks left in the semester! I have been busy with fun weekends on and off campus with my friends and cannot wait to see my family this weekend!
Hey everyone!
I hope you all are doing well and are loving spring as much as I am - it's such a nice time of the year! With only three weeks left in the school year, its time to prep for finals week, choose fall semester classes and get ready for a nice and relaxing summer vacation!
The past two weeks everyone has been getting ready for Penguin Ball (Dominican's version of prom) this upcoming Friday and supporting their favorite candidate for the ASDU presidential election. School spirit has been growing as the year comes to a close! It's been nice to head down to the library lawn for the Thursday movie nights and spend time with all of my friends.
Right now I am trying to figure out how to squeeze everything that I would like to do during my free time into the last few weekends here. I am also working on all of my papers and projects now so that I am up to date and don't fall behind during finals.
I had a great break from my normally busy schedule today with a science fieldtrip to Slide Ranch near Muir Beach off of Highway 1. It was once a dairy farm for a local Marin family and was converted into a ranch in the 1970's for local schools to come on field trips. My science class ventured there this afternoon to see how to conduct a fieldtrip for our future students and how to incorporate it into our lesson plans.
Sadly, my classroom observation at the preschool will conclude next week when I finish my required 20 hours for the semester. I will spend the next few weeks just focusing on my work as a student ambassador as well as finals. I love working at the preschool and am happy to be given the opportunity.
Thats it for me this time around. I can't wait to report back to you all in a few weeks and update you on everything new in my life!
Till then,
Amanda : )
