Housing
Dominican University of California students have three choices for housing.
They can live in one of four dormitories, each with a distinct character and appeal. Approximately 1/3rd of our students chooses this option. Students are also able to live on their own in apartments or rented rooms in San Rafael, or nearby towns. Or, if a home-stay is more to your liking, we are happy to provide room and board in the home of a local family.
Safety
Security Guards are available 24 hours per day. The campus is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood, where few, if any, crimes occur per year. Taxis are available from the main bus station in San Rafael to the Dominican Campus and cost roughly $3.00. While San Rafael is generally a very safe town, students are encouraged not to walk into San Rafael alone at night and to exercise common sense and caution when traveling into San Francisco.
