Dominican’s Global Education Office (GEO) is committed to ensuring that international students experience a pleasant arrival and transition to Dominican. To aid in this process, GEO provides the following services to international students:
GEO assists new international students with arranging for paid airport pick-up from SFO. Upon request, for a small fee, GEO provides incoming international students with a welcome package that includes a pillow, bedding set, towels and sim card.
Housing and Accommodation Support
GEO assists international students in finding appropriate housing before, during and after arrival. Students seeking off-campus housing are given individual assistance prior to and upon arrival. Students may continue to use GEO as a resource for housing issues as they arise.
Life in the U.S. Adjustment and Academic Success
International students meet individually with a specialized international student adviser to assist with adjustment to the U.S. way of life and U.S. academic system. Advisers are available 24/7 to assist international students with any inquires or issues they may have. The student club Global Ambassador's runs a buddy program that matches new international students with a Dominican student to facilitate a smooth transition to the U.S. and university life.
