Beyond the Classroom
Dominican is committed to developing the bodies, minds and spirits of its students.
Dominican’s Office of Student Life and Campus Ministry coordinate many of the services that support the University’s educational mission and enrich students’ personal, social, physical, spiritual, and professional development.
Dominican’s commitment to service learning integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection in order enrich the learning experience.
The Office of Internationalization and Global Education provides students with opportunities to live and learn in foreign countries while earning academic credit, though the University's Study Abroad Program.
Dominican’s athletics teams participate in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the California Pacific Conference (Cal Pac). The university expects to be full NCAA II Division member in 2012. The men compete in soccer, basketball, golf, and lacrosse. The women compete in volleyball, soccer, basketball, softball, golf, and tennis.
The Conlan Center features a gymnasium with two full-sized basketball courts, a-seven lane swimming pool, a fitness center, and nearby tennis courts.
Career and Internship Services works to secure students internships and jobs with some of the Bay Area’s leading organizations, including Autodesk, the Buck Institute for Research on Aging, CBS Radio, Deloitte & Touche, Fair Isaac, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Harper Collins Publishing, Harvard Medical School, KPMG, Levi Strauss & Co., Lucasfilm, Oakland Raiders, Pixar, San Francisco Giants, UCSF Medical Center, and the World Affairs Council.
