Admissions Events
During the regular school year, the Student Ambassadors assist the Admissions Department with:
- Campus Visit Days (September – January)
- Admitted Student Open Houses (February – April)
- The Annual WACAC (Western Association of College Admissions Counselors) College Fair held in May
Campus Visit Days
Campus Visit Days are Saturday events in which the admissions department hosts various informational sessions for prospective students and their families. During a Campus Visit Day, the Student Ambassadors provide a great deal of personal information; answering questions from student regarding Dominican, answering questions from parents regarding Dominican, and conducting campus tours.
Admitted Student Open Houses
Admitted Student Open Houses are Saturday events aimed towards students that have been granted admittance to Dominican. During an Admitted Student Open House, the Student Ambassadors engage in personal information exchange with the parents and students but also, friendships between the students.
WACAC Fair
The WACAC College Fair is held on the Dominican campus and the Student Ambassadors play a major role in its successful execution. During the WACAC College Fair, there are hundreds of visitors that come to speak with the over 150 college representatives. The Student Ambassadors are called upon to assist the visitors during the fair.
Volunteer Events
Part of being a Student Ambassador is giving back to the community. As a way of fulfilling the need to give back to the community, the Student Ambassador participate in various volunteer activities. One such activity is helping the San Francisco Food Bank package food for needy families.
