Saburo Kido Memorial Scholarship
Every applicant must be an active National JACL member at either an Individual or Student/Youth Level. Parent membership will not meet this requirement. American Chemical Society Scholars Program
The American Chemical Society sponsors an undergraduate scholarship program for students majoring in a chemical science - such as chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or other chemically-related disciplines. National Institute of Health Undergraduate School Program
The Summer Internship Program (SIP) at the NIH provides an opportunity to spend the summer working side-by-side with some of the leading scientists in the world in an environment devoted exclusively to biomedical research. Students sixteen years of age or older who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and are currently enrolled at least half-time in high school, an accredited U.S. college or university or an accredited U.S. medical/dental school are eligible to apply. Chicana/Latina Foundation

Latinas Learning to Lead: Summer Institute Program
Program graduating no sooner than December 2008. Have earned a minimum of 30 semester hours by May 2008. Have a minimum GPA of 2.50 on a 4.00 scale. Be between the ages of 17 and 22. Demonstrated leadership as indicated by volunteer and other activities. Have a strong commitment to Latina/o issues. The Latinas Learning to Lead Institute was created to ensure that young Hispanic women develop their personal and professional potential to serve as leaders within the rapidly growing Hispanic communities in the US. The Latinas Learning to Lead Institute combines leadership training with technical and practical experience in a comprehensive one-week program. The applicant must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. The applicant must have completed a minimum of 12 units, must be currently enrolled in an accredited educational institution at the time the award is solicited and must be continuing her or his education in the Fall of 2009. A minimum of a 3.0 GPA is required. The criteria for scholarship selection will be based on varying degrees of the following: financial need, academics, community involvement, and career goals.
