Grants


A completed financial aid application is required for all need-based grant assistance.  Applying for aid is straightforward:  complete the Dominican Financial Aid Application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) after January 1 of each year.  The table below lists priority deadlines for each form of grant assistance; it is advisable to apply in time to meet the earliest deadline for any form of grant for which you may potentially qualify.

 

Dominican Grant

  • Who is it for? Undergraduate Day Freshmen and Transfers
  • Criteria: Full-time enrollment and demonstrated need
  • Deadlines to Apply: March 2 priority consideration
     

Dominican Graduate Grant or Counseling Psychology Fellowship

  • Who is it for? Full-time San Rafael Credential and Masters
  • Criteria: Full-time enrollment; renewable for some programs
  • Deadlines to Apply: July 1 for new  fall admits and renewals; December 1 for new spring admits

 

Pathways Scholarship

  • Who is it for? Pathways students on San Rafael campus
  • Criteria: At least half-time enrollment (6 units/semester)
  • Deadlines to Apply: Rolling

 

Federal Pell Grant

  • Who is it for? All Undergraduates
  • Criteria: Annual eligibility
  • Deadlines to Apply: Rolling

 

Federal SEOG

  • Who is it for? All Undergraduates
  • Criteria: Pell eligible; at least half-time enrollment
  • Deadlines to Apply: March 2 priority consideration

 

CAL Grants

  • Who is it for? All Undergraduates
  • Criteria: California state program eligibility
  • Deadlines to Apply: March 2 

 

Federal Academic Competitiveness Grant

  • Who is it for? Qualifying first time freshman and sophomores 
  • Criteria: Must be Pell eligible, and meet additional federally eligibility requirements 
  • Deadlines to Apply: Rolling

 

National SMART Grant

  • Who is it for? Qualifying juniors and seniors
  • Criteria: Must be Pell eligible, biology major, and meet additional federal eligibility requirements
  • Deadlines to Apply: Rolling

 

TEACH Grant

  • Who is it for? Undergraduates who intend to pursue a career teaching in elementary or secondary school and Graduates in the MSED or a teaching credential program.
  • Criteria: Must meet additional federal eligibility requirements.  This grant has a service obligation and it will become a loan if obligation is not met.
