The Service-Learning program will be offering a series of 6, two-hour workshops for faculty across the disciplines.
The workshops will be co-facilitated by Julie Reed, PhD, Director of Service-Learning at USF.
Participants will receive mini-stipends of $300.
Workshops to begin early March, most probably Wednesday afternoons. Dates TBA.

- SESSION 1: SERVICE-LEARNING PEDAGOGY: PHILOSOPHY & BEST PRACTICES
- SESSION 2: DEVELOPING AND SUSTAINING COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS
- SESSION 3: STUDENT LEARNING NEEDS AND REFLECTION UPON SERVICE-LEARNING
- SESSION 4: REFLECTION AND ASSESSMENT
- SESSION 5: LINKING SERVICE-LEARNING TO DISCIPLINARY CONTENT
- SESSION 6: SHARING OF COMPLETED SERVICE-LEARNING PORTFOLIO
Learning Outcomes Include:
- Participants will understand the value of service-learning as a pedagogical approach to teaching any disciplinary content.
- Participants will understand the importance and qualities of collaborative relationships between community partners and DU faculty.
- Participants will establish syllabi and orientation components that clarify service-learning rationale and expectations for students.
- Participants will understand the central role of reflection within service-learning
- Participants will establish specific links within their syllabi between course content and service-learning opportunities.
