Students may find it necessary to take one or more semesters of leave from the University for personal or professional reasons. Students choosing this option must complete aand submit it to the Registrar’s Office either in person or via fax. Students may be absent from the University for one academic year (two semesters and a summer) on an official leave of absence. Students who file a Leave of Absence form with the Registrar’s Office and return within one academic year retain the admission and graduation requirements from the catalog in effect at the time of matriculation. Students who return to the University after being away for more than one year must reapply to the University through the Admissions Office and meet all requirements in effect at the time they return. A student who withdraws from the University without giving proper notification of his or her intention to withdraw may receive a permanent grade of “F” or “UF” in all courses in which he or she was enrolled during the semester of withdrawal.
