What is a Coursera Learning Hub?

A Learning Hub is a physical space where students meet with a course facilitator for discussion, group work and brief lecture.

About the Course

“Understanding Research Methods” is offered through Coursera by the University of London June 2-July 11, 2014. The course enables students to develop their understanding of research methods, gain confidence in designing a research project, and choose and execute appropriate methods.

Prior knowledge or experience in research is not required to take this course, though it will outline the fundamentals of research aimed primarily, but not exclusively, at the postgraduate level.

Students will need internet access and a device between Learning Hub meetings to access the Coursera course content, but laptops and wi-fi will be provided for the Learning Hub meetings at Dominican.

Recommended texts and background reading can be found on the course website, but there are no required supplementary materials.

We are excited to be partnering with Coursera. Our goal is to provide intellectual integration for the student, championing what has been proven to be the best of teaching and learning while embracing new technology.

– President Mary B. Marcy
