The Marin Math Circle brings together elementary, middle, and high school students who are interested in exploring new mathematical topics and challenging problems. The Marin Math Circle aims to:
Introduce students to the wonders of beautiful mathematical theories, presented by mathematicians with a passion for teaching
Provide students a place to have fun solving problems together with their peers
Encourage students to undertake future careers linked with mathematics, whether as mathematicians, educators, economists, biologists, or business entrepreneurs
Starting in September 2013, the circle will include multiple levels:
|Elementary||Grades 1-2||6:00 - 6:50 pm|
|Grade 3||7:00 - 7:50 pm|
|Intermediate||Recommended for grades 6 - 8||6:30 - 8:00 pm|
|Advanced||Recommended for grades 9 - 12||6:15 - 8:15 pm|
All sessions are held on Wednesday evenings during the school year, on the campus of Dominican University of California.
The Marin Math Circle is funded by a Dolciani Mathematics Enrichment Grant from the Mathematical Association of America, by a grant from Mathematical Sciences Research Institute, and by donations from parents and community members.
