Karen Suslow is a graduate of UC Davis with a bachelor’s degree in Entomology and a master’s degree from UC Berkeley in Plant Pathology focusing on insect vectors of plant disease agents. Dedicated professional of more than thirty years, applying practical technologies and policies for safeguarding agriculture from the introduction and/or containment of invasive pests and diseases. 15 years of commercial horticulture business management experience and expertise including: strategic and personnel management, operational budget oversight, crop production management, coordination and collaborative task implementation among diverse groups of stakeholders with a shared vision. Widely recognized company and nursery industry leadership in state, federal, and international regulatory policy development and oversight. She serves on numerous nursery and regulatory committees/workshops and collaborates closely with CA Association of Nurseries and Garden Centers and the American Nursery and Landscape Association on regulatory affairs.
Karen is currently the NORS-DUC Program Manager and Principle Investigator.
