Graduate Program
Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT)
Dominican University of California offers a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) degree for students who have already earned a bachelor's degree in another academic area and are entering at the graduate level. The three-year course of study is designed for individuals with a degree in another field seeking a master’s degree. Their courses are often combined with the students completing the five-year, combined bachelor and masters program.
The three years includes all fieldwork requirements.
Students begin their thesis in the second year of the program and may choose either project-based or research-based thesis processes. Students are usually able to develop their thesis topics related to their personal interests.
Although these students have earned bachelor degrees in other fields, they may not have completed all the prerequsite undergraduate (lower division) courses for admission to the occupational therapy program. Students should review the prerequsites and may request a preliminary review of their transcripts to determine what courses may need to be taken before admission to the OT program.
