Autism Spectrum Disorders Added Authorization Certificate

The Autism Spectrum Disorders Added Authorization program (12 Extension Semester Units) is required for individuals teaching students with autism spectrum disorders. 

The certificate program is designed for those who have completed the Master of Science in Special Education or have no intention of earning a Master’s degree.  The Certificate program is organized into four courses offered in a two-semester format.

Certificate candidates must currently hold an Education Specialist Level I teaching credential or be eligible for an Education Specialist Level I teaching credential prior to recommendation for the Added Authorization.

EDUX 9801 Characteristics of Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders

Date and Time: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 4:30 p.m. - 7:15 p.m., July 29 through August 15, 2013

Tuition and Credit:  $650; 3 Extension Semester Units*

Location: Guzman Hall room 114, Dominican University of CA campus

 

EDUX 9802 Assessing and Teaching Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders

Date and Time: Wednesday, 4:30 p.m. - 7:15 p.m., August 28 - December 10, 2013

Tuition and Credit:; $650; 3 Extension Semester Units*

Location: TBA, Dominican University of CA campus

 

EDUX 9803 Collaborative Field Experience Seminar

Date and Time: Wednesday, 4 p.m. - 7 p.m., Spring 2014

Tuition and Credit:  $650; 3 Extension Semester Units*

EDUX 9804 Supervised Teaching with Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders

*Extension Semester Units are not transferable towards the master’s degree.
