Find fulfillment in a classroom. First ours, then your own.

Our Department of Education prepares educators who demonstrate moral and ethical purpose, apply current educational and informational literacy theories, use intercultural knowledge in the classroom and sustain professional excellence to serve the needs of a democratic and diverse society.

Dominican graduates are student-centered educators who use a wide variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of California’s diverse school-age population. We expect our graduates to play an active role in making a positive difference in their students’ lives.

Dominican’s teacher preparation programs are approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) to prepare and recommend candidates for credentials at two different sites: San Rafael and Ukiah.  Our programs meet current California state credentialing requirements related to technology, working effectively with English learners, and students with special needs.  All programs culminate in an MS in Education degree with the completion of additional units.

Our accelerated (full-time) and transition (part-time)  class offerings, combined with supervised student teaching and internship options, provide candidates a quality MS in Education program that fits their needs and schedule.
