Center for Autism

The Center for Autism, Dominican University of California, will build upon existing programs at the University to meet the educational, social, behavioral and therapeutic needs of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) refers to a range of neuro-developmental disorders that result in qualitative impairment in the development and use of language, qualitative impairment in social interaction, and restricted repetitive and stereo-typed patterns of behavior, interests, and activities.

The Center provides on-site training for teachers to address the critical need for highly qualified teachers in both general and special education classrooms throughout the United States.

In addition, the Center will serve as a community resource by contributing education and professional development opportunities for teachers and other professionals as well as public autism resource workshops and various other opportunities throughout the year.
