III. Preliminary Portfolio (Education Specialist Candidates Only)
Assessment of candidates in the Education Specialist: Preliminary credential program is an on-going process. One component of the assessment is the Preliminary Portfolio that begins in the Preliminary credential program and culminates in the Professional Portfolio.
- The purpose of the Professional Portfolio is to create an opportunity to collect a variety of materials that demonstrate your growing knowledge as a beginning teacher. It provides you with an opportunity to focus on your growth; collect artifacts and evidence; reflect on your knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitudes; and to document your own learning.
- Your portfolio will be a synthesis of your experiences and observations in the program.
- You will receive additional information and directions regarding portfolio requirements in your seminar classes.
