Leadership Fellows Association
We are a voluntary group of Dominican graduates of the LeaderShape Institute (R) who work for positive change within the campus and larger community by challenging ourselves and supporting each other to be pro-active leaders of change.
Annual Aims
- Strive to keep the atmosphere and excitement of learning during LeaderShape active through the year.
- Support each other to make progress implementing the personal Vision and Blueprint developed at LeaderShape.
- Be available to speak to potential financial sponsors and members of the larger community about your LeaderShape experience. (Help acquire grants and sponsors.)
- Take an active role in planning Leadership Day in January for all Dominican students interested in learning about leadership, and/or organize a change project (or projects) on campus.
- Provide information and encourage other students to apply for LeaderShape.
- Help orient the next group of students selected to attend LeaderShape.

Toastmasters
Toastmasters is a student club affiliated as one Toastmaster’s International’s official chapters. Members develop public speaking and leadership skills through practice and feedback. Members “practice and learn skills by filling a meeting role, ranging from giving a prepared speech or an impromptu one to serving as timer, evaluator or grammarian.
Each speech and meeting is critiqued by members in a positive manner, focusing on what was done right and what could be improved.” http://www.toastmasters.org.

Business Bakers Association
Business Bakers Association is a student club that builds community by spending time together to bake delicious and beautifully presented baked delights. The club is primarily composed of students, faculty, staff and alumni of the School of Business and Leadership, however students from any major may join and participate. The club communes to enjoy the process of baking and sharing these baked goods with the SBL and communities. Dr. Denise Lucy is the faculty mentor for the club.

Leadership Hosts Ambassadors
Leadership Host Ambassadors are student leaders who volunteer to greet guests and assist in the coordination of Dominican’s Institute for Leadership Studies Lectures, Forums and Seminars. The Leadership Host Ambassadors contribute their time primarily at the Leadership Lecture Series sponsored by Dominican’s Institute for Leadership Studies (ILS).
The lectures features topics related to individual, organizational and/or social change inspired by effective leadership. Founded in 2003, the Series has gained a reputation as a premier series in Marin County and has opened Dominican’s doors to thousands of guests since its founding.
Some of the country’s leading figures from the world of business, politics, entertainment, academia and literature have been guests of the series. Some examples are former United States former Vice President Al Gore, Actor Jane Fonda, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, authors Isabel Allende and Amy Tan, Leadership guru Daniel Goleman, Activist Ralph Nader, personal financial expert Suze Orman and former U.S. Secretary of State, Madeline Albright, environmentalists Paul Hawken, David Suzuki and Bill McKibben.
