Management Information Systems (Concentration)

School 05-06 104.jpgThe Management Information Systems (MIS) concentration prepares students to play an important role within organizations as they transition the use of the Internet and adopt the latest technology into the everyday domain of the business world. Adopting a cross-functional managerial approach, students will gain a solid foundation in understanding how businesses operate across various functions such as management, finance, marketing, strategy, legal, and technology.

The courses in the MIS concentration have been designed to:

  • broaden the students' appreciation of the reach of electronic business
  • examine the positive rationale of doing business online
  • investigate the explicit benefits from adopting the Internet
  • better understand the effect of this evolutionary business paradigm as consumers become increasingly sophisticated in advancing their individual lifestyles.


Concentration Requirements for MIS:

Four of the following 3-unit electives:    12

BUS 4015                        Internet Marketing (3 units)

BUS 4038                        eBusiness Strategy and Planning (3 units)

BUS 4039                        Information Technology and Management (3 units)

BUS 4925                        Special Topics (3 units)

BUS 4996/4912/4914    Internship/Senior Project/Thesis (3 units)

Total MIS Concentration    12 units
