Lynsie Ulrich



Lynsie Ulrich lands her full-time dream auditor position before graduating

The Summa Cum Laude honors student, a business administration major with concentrations in accounting and management, graduated from Dominican on May 17 and will begin a full-time position as an auditor with KPMG LLP in the Financial District in San Francisco next summer after completing her MBA.

President Marcy Named Bay Area Most Influential Woman in Bay Area Business

Dominican University of California President Mary B. Marcy was named one of the “Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business” for 2014 by the San Francisco Business Times in the publication’s May 2, 2014 issue.

Tony Zhang's rise to Chief Investment Manager at Franklin Templeton Sealand Fund Management

The business courses taken at Dominican built a broad foundation for me to start an internship at a San Francisco-based investment company. After the internship, I was employed and eventually moved up to be Senior Investment Officer – Greater China.

Abdurahman Almaimani graduates with two MBAs

In 2011, Abdurahman Almaimani came to Dominican to earn an MBA in Strategic Leadership. Two years later, he graduated with not one but two master’s degrees, becoming the first student at Dominican to complete both an MBA in Strategic Leadership and an MBA in Global Management simultaneously.

As a child, Andrew Chino loved playing in the sandbox with Tonka trucks. Now, he’s drawn on his childhood love of construction equipment to create a mobile game that gained thousands of fans in more than 65 countries.

CalCPA Scholarship goes to a worthy student

From a local family of five, Andy helps finance his education by working as a bank teller for West America Bank in Ignacio and as a customer specialist at Best Buy in San Rafael. In hopes of lessening the financial burden of his education on his family, Andy recently applied for a San Francisco Chapter of CalCPA scholarship. The scholarship recognizes excellence in accounting and encourages students to pursue CPA licensure and careers in accounting.

Dominican students host speed interview workshop

The students were participating in a speed interview workshop dinner with professionals from Bay Area businesses, including Deloitte, U.S. Capital Partners, Chevron, and Lateef Investment Management. Sponsored by the Dominican Accounting and Finance Association (DAFA), the event attracted about 35 students and 10 professionals.

MBA Alumna is appointed CEO of Goodwill Industries

Now Chief Executive Officer of Goodwill Industries of San Francisco, San Mateo and Marin, MBA alumna Maureen Sedonaen is leading a staff of about 700 Goodwill employees in enterprise, including 425 full-timers. “I’m just delighted to be here. I feel challenged, blessed, humbled and excited every day.” She thanks Dominican for helping her along the way.

Four dedicated undergraduate business students are rewarded for their commitment and hard work, winning first prize at the 2013 Globe-Without-Borders Business Case competition at Savannah State University in Savannah, Georgia.

Zachary Davis




YouTube sensation and White House favorite

Zach Davis, an alumnus in the Barowsky School of Business, received an MBA in Sustainable Enterprise (Green MBA) in 2009. For his Capstone project he wrote a business plan for an organic ice cream shop in Santa Cruz, California. Once he graduated, he opened that very ice cream shop, The Penny Ice Creamery, which soon became famous due to great organic ice cream and a viral YouTube video that was seen by President Obama and Vice President Biden.

Michelle Mitra-medium



Michelle Mitra's success story

Michelle Mitra graduated with a BA in Business Administration, concentration in Accounting and a minor in Sports Management. In her senior year at Dominican she was recruited by Deloitte and she is now a Senior Tax Consultant at the firm.

While at Dominican, she was captain of the women's golf team, served as peer advisor to business students as well as a teaching assistant to incoming accounting students.
