Master of Science in Nursing

Welcome to Dominican Graduate Nursing.

We are a private university of Catholic heritage with a strong commitment to nursing excellence and relationship centered education. Our graduate curriculum offers Registered Nurses the opportunity to prepare themselves as leaders and innovators in today’s changing healthcare system by addressing three major demographic trends. These are: the needs of an aging population, the urgent need for nurse educators, and the integration of complementary and alternative therapies into mainstream health care.

Classes are held on alternating weekends, and clinical placement is flexible and individualized. Completion of the full program, including 500 clinical hours, results in eligibility for Advance Nursing Practice licensure as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. For those not interested in obtaining advanced practice status, clinical hours are omitted, resulting in a Masters in Nursing and no change in licensure.

The Dominican Nursing Program  follows guidelines defined by the California Board of Registered Nursing for Clinical Nurse Specialist status and are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)

New!- Accelerated  ADN to MSN Program

Dominican is pleased to announce our new, accelerated program. Registered Nurses with an associate’s degree may earn their masters degree in as little as three years. The final degree in this program is a masters degree in one of the two specialty areas offered.

Students entering the program with a bachelors degree complete the program in as little as five semesters, or 21 months.

Both the Geriatric/ Nurse Educator track and the Integrative Health Practices track offer students the option to participate in clinical preceptorships that would result in clinical nurse specialist licensure. Full time and part time options are available.
