“My four years at Dominican provided me the knowledge and skill that shaped me into becoming a strong and independent adult. Through the leadership of my professors and the support that they gave me in my learning process, my growth in the field of communications was tremendous. I was able to shape my style in broadcasting class and worked on improving my delivery through my radio shows that I performed weekly on radio.dominican.edu - Dominican University's Internet Radio Station. I was very fortunate to have worked with professors that were diligent and caring in their approach to education and social skills. Through DU's Internship program I was accepted by several radio stations as an Intern. With the knowledge that I obtained from DU and the ability to Intern, I now have secured a fulfilling and rewarding position at Clear Channel Hawaii as a full time night personality on KSSK 92.3 FM.”

“Dominican University of California helped build my communication background and give me experience that I might not have gained elsewhere. From working on Penguin Radio, to doing internships with the IJ it provided me the necessary tools to succeed directly after college.”

“While at Dominican I chose to double major in Digital Arts and Communications to fuel my passion for visual arts, analytical/creative thinking, and writing. The communications department encouraged me to participate in a variety of internships during my career at Dominican, which gave me hands-on experience to succeed both in my academics and ventures outside of campus. From being an enthusiastic member of the Radio Disney street team to my current position as a collaborative team player at Pixar Animation Studios, I credit the Dominican community for making my career goals possible."

“The growing Communications Department helped me realized my potential both socially and academically. The relationships that I developed grew outside of class and I was able to network through these connections which led me not only to close friendships but also important references I will be able to use in the future. Due to the support and guidance from Professors Melba Beals and John Duvall, I was able to secure internships and skills that helped me get to where I am today.”

“My Communications professors Melba Beals and John Duvall taught me to become a professional. They gave me a lot of support and helped me to have more confidence in myself in pursuing a career. Thanks to Susan Fyles in the Internship office, I got an internship with KRZZ radio 93.3, which plays Mexican original music, where I now work there as a Program Director Assistant."
