Communication and Media Studies

Our mission is to prepare students to be ethically responsible and skillful communicators who are able to navigate an increasingly media saturated, diverse and complex global environment.

Our dynamic program emphasizes communication skills so that students become discerning media consumers. Our students hone their skills to become critical thinkers, astute researchers, confident speakers, skilled writers and creative storytellers.

We cultivate a collaborative, hands-on learning environment to help students become professional communicators. Students practice their craft through campus media, professional internships, and classes linked with community partners in the San Francisco Bay Area and nationally.

We prepare our students for purposeful lives and careers by attending to the four Dominican values of study, reflection, community and service.
