Communications and Media Studies

We want you to be excited to grow here. The Department of Communications and Media Studies provides a vibrant selection of courses and learning opportunities for students of all experience levels to prepare you for life and career as a global citizen.

This program is about your growth not only as a student, but as a person. The courses in this department provide expert instruction in specific skill sets, like film making and on-air radio broadcasting, while at the same time improving your abilities as a critical thinker and ethical choice maker in this media rich world. Dominican University and the Communications and Media Studies Department provide an environment where, unlike many other institutions, you are given hands on training in radio, print, or film from day one. It's all to help you be the best whatever-you-want-to-be that you can.

We are very good at taking what you bring to the table--your talents and interests--and turning them into skills and experiences. Our faculty is a top notch group of scholars and working professionals with decades of experience both in their fields and teaching others about their disciplines.

All of us in the department, the professors and students and alumni alike, are very happy you’re considering studying with us. There are a lot of great choices out there, but Communications at Dominican is less about what everyone else is doing and more about helping you be the best you can be.
