Pandora - Laurie Reiche
I had nothing of my own.
They made me out of clay and water.
Rage and hunger prompted
my creation; I had nothing
of my own. My beauty
and deceit was His idea.
Zeus was pissed at Prometheus he
stole the fire, tricked-up the feast,
left Zeus hungry for revenge.
I never was an honest woman
just a brilliant military coup.
I figured the box was a gift
for a bride who had nothing.
I thought if I looked inside
I'd find something of my own.
I thought if I looked inside
this flimsy flesh
might be returned
to sacred stone.
