The Humanities and Cultural Studies Program offers students the opportunity to study the meaning of the human condition through interdisciplinary and multi-discipline course work.

The broad course of study brings together art history, history, literature, art and/or music, philosophy, and foreign language to help the student examine the fundamental questions that shape humanity, such as: What constitutes a life worth living? What responsibilities do we have to self, family, and society? How have different cultures throughout different eras tackled significant social and environmental issues? How do different cultures conceive of humanity and how do such conceptions shape the worlds we create?

Humanities and Cultural Studies majors acquire the ability to relate to multiple worldviews and diverse cultural experiences. To this end, international and cross-cultural study is recommended along with appropriate international language competence. A senior project culminates completion of a Humanities and Cultural Studies degree.
