Folder Art History
The Art History program provides an understanding of the visual arts and illuminates the development of world’s cultures. Coursework equips students with training in art history as a humanistic discipline through the visual analysis and interpretation of works of art.
Folder Humanities and Cultural Studies
The Humanities and Cultural Studies Program offers students the opportunity to study the meaning of the human condition through interdisciplinary and multi-discipline course work.
Folder History
The History Program conveys the richness and variety of human experience, teaches the tools of historical research, and encourages the interpretation of historical materials.
Folder Latin American Studies (Minor)
The Latin American studies minor is an interdisciplinary program in the humanities introducing students to Latin American perspectives on history, geography, literature, politics, and art.
Folder Philosophy (Minor)
The Philosophy minor emphasises the history of metaphysical, ethical, and political philosophy in the West and includes studies of logic, Asian philosophy, philosophy of religion, and evironmental philosophy.
Folder Religion
The Religion Program focuses on the Biblical roots and theological development of the Judaeo-Christian tradition and on the cross-cultural study of humanity’s religions including Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism, and Native American traditions.
Folder Sustainable Communities
Sustainable Communities (SC) is a unique and vibrant cohort program for working adults that addresses current needs in society by integrating environmental education with cultural analysis, social action, public policy, and hands-on skill building.
Folder Women and Gender Studies
The WGS program explores the dimension of gender as it intersects with class, sexual orientation, and race. The program imparts an interdisciplinary grounding with a multicultural and international perspective.
