Welcome to the Department of Humanities
Wide in scope and offering significant depth in several areas, our various majors prepare students to enter postgraduate programs in a variety of disciplines as well as to enter the working world with cultural sensitivity, an international perspective, heightened ethical awareness, and strong analytical and expressive skills.
Focusing on the study of cultural expression, human thought, and the development of civilizations, our programs support a wide range of student research interests. Cick here to see a list of some of the culminating capstone research projects our students have completed.
Our goal is not only to prepare our students to succeed in whatever direction they choose but, even more important, to set the foundation for a deeply fulfilled life rich with intellectual wonder, compassion, and creativity.
