Academic Excellence Workshops


All workshops except SPSS and the MLA and APA documentation styles are offered from 4:00 - 5:30 in Bertrand 110, the Teaching and Learning Center (TLC). The documention style workshops are offered in Library 222 from 4:00 - 5:30 . The SPSS workshop is offered in Library 222 from 5:30 - 7:00.

Learn how to effectively address test anxiety and improve your grades.

MLA and APA Documentation Styles (Turabian given by request)

Learn how to document in-text references, create a title page, use proper abbreviations, avoid plagiarism, and list books, journal articles, and websites.

SPSS

Learn some of the basics about entering data into your computer, organizing data, and computing means, standard deviations, correlations, and t-tests. (SPSS is a statistical software package for the Social Sciences.)

Goal Setting and Time Management

Learn how to formulate, organize, and achieve your goals in a timely manner. Overcome procrastination by creating and following a weekly schedule.

Learn how to identify and avoid plagiarism. With Dominican's new plagiarism-identification software, MyDropBox, everyone needs to know how to use sources wisely and carefully in writing research papers.
