The Teaching and Learning Center (The TLC)

The Teaching and Learning Center (the TLC), located in Bertrand 110, is an academic resource for all Dominican students. It houses eight computer work stations, four tutoring carrels, and conference area for group tutoring.

What can I do at the TLC?

  • Request a tutor

  • Attend an academic excellence workshop
  • Check out instructional books or videos
  • Obtain free math, writing, and reading handouts (and more)

What are the TLC's hours?

Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m.  – 9:00 p.m.

Friday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  and by appointment.

Occasionally the TLC must be closed for special testing sessions, but when that happens, an alternative location for tutoring sessions will be posted.

How can I sign up for a tutor?

To sign up for a tutor, go to https://secure.dominican.edu/tutor/request.php to fill out an electronic tutor request form. You can also drop by the TLC if you need help filling out the form or if you have any questions.
