For the past six years, Everil has been guiding Dominican students in their academic endeavors; her greatest professional joy is watching students succeed. From her former profession in editing, Everil retains a love of words and books. She also enjoys the theater and hiking with her family.

She holds BS and MS degrees in Education from Indiana University and a PhD in Learning and Change in Human Systems from the California Institute of Integral Studies. Her areas of interest include unsponsored learning, diversity issues, and transformative learning.

Lisa has been working in the field of education for 21 years. She earned a BA in Occupational Therapy, an MS in Education, and a Graduate Certificate in Academic Advising. Thus, Lisa has experience in all aspects of student need: academic, psychological, and physical. Her areas of expertise are adult and international student education. Lisa enjoys hiking, reading, and gardening.

Chrisa Hotchkiss

Chrisa brings 20 years of experience in education as a teacher, tutor, and computer lab supervisor. For two years, Chrisa tutored students at Dominican before accepting the position in the Teaching and Learning Center. She is especially knowledgeable in the area of computer-assisted writing instruction. Chrisa holds a BS in Psychology and an MA in English from Bowling Green State University. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening and playing in a band.
- Supervises learning-resource technologies in the Teaching and Learning Center (TLC, Bertrand 110)
- Arranges for tutors in writing, math, science, and other subjects as available
- Manages administration of placement tests
- Compiles resources for students, including instructional software and online resources
- Serves as co-moderator for Gamma Sigma Honor Society

Vaolele Stawiarski

Vaolele holds a BEd in Elementary Education from the University of Hawaii in Manoa. She is currently a candidate for the MA in Reading and Language Education at Sonoma State University. Her previous professional experience includes elementary and middle-school teaching in American Samoa, as well as the teaching of English as a Second Language in Japan and advising international students at the Dominican ELS Language Center campus. She enjoys receiving correspondence from her former students and hearing about their current accomplishments. To keep in touch with her roots, Vaolele dances in a variety of Polynesian cultural dances. In her spare time, Vaolele loves watching movies, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends.

Kathryn Mulholland

Kathryn brings 25 years of experience in disability services and rehabilitation as a clinical assistant professor, academic program director, counselor, researcher, and consultant. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from San Francisco State University, an MS degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Cal-State University, Los Angeles, and a PhD in Organizational Psychology from Alliant International University. Kathryn is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Certified Disability Management Specialist, and a Nationally Certified Counselor. Her areas of interest include disability as a diversity issue, assistive technology, instructional strategies, and distance learning.
- Advises both undergraduate and graduate students with disabilities regarding disability assessment, documentation, and academic accommodations
- Consults with faculty to facilitate implementation of students' accommodations
- Consults with prospective students and their families about disability-related issues
- Investigates and implements various forms of assistive technology

Marsha Conley

Marsha earned her BA in psychology and MS in Counseling from San Francisco State University, where she taught a first-year experience course and provided academic advising and personal counseling to students. She has also advised and counseled students at Laney College, where she helped facilitate a career planning course. Marsha enjoys working collaboratively with students to help them achieve their personal, academic, and professional goals. In her spare time she watches movies, loves dancing, and spends time with family and friends.
- Advises Undeclared Day Program students
- Teaches University 101, a freshman experience course for Undeclared students in the Vision Quest program
- Receives Early Warning Notices, contacts students to ascertain the problem, and refers for support
- Advises and counsels students on probation
- Tutors students in Spanish
