Dominican Courses

Participants take two courses specifically developed by a local expert in sustainability and taught by experts in their fields. These courses include:  Foundations in Sustainability and Applied Professions Core.  Both classes take place on Domician University campus.  Each class is five hours and meets either Saturdays or Sundays for five consecutive weeks.

Electives

Along with classes taught at Dominican, students choose electives to complement their area of interest. These electives are offered by local organizations and institutions that regularly conduct workshops, seminars, training and professional development courses in a braod range of topics.  We work with students to identify areas where skills and knowledge should be developed so that student will be well-prepared to meet their professional or personal goals and objectives.

Examples of organizations through which you can obtain electives include: the Environmental Forum of Marin, College of Marin and PG&E Energy Center.

Service Learning, Internship or Capstone Project

Finally, a capstone project or internship, designed in coordination with and under continued support from Strategic Energy Innovations, ensures that students put practical application to what they learn in coursework. These projects can also serve as vocational training for those seeking to develop their work experience and marketability for the burgeoning Sustainable Trades sector.
