Internal Faculty Grants

Below is a brief description of grants offered by Dominican University of California to its faculty and staff. As noted below, certain grants are available on a non-competitive basis, while others are competitive. Please contact the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs if you have any questions about the grants described below. Also, please note that all grant proposals must be submitted to June Caminiti in the Provost's Office on or before the applicable date listed below. A.  FACULTY PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT GRANTS

C. PROVOST INITIATIVE GRANTS – COLLABORATIVE PROJECTS

1. Academic Excellence Initiative - up to 3 awards annually to recognize and honor faculty members for making significant advances to knowledge, technique, or creative expression in the programs/fields involving undergraduate education

Project must include at least one full-time faculty or one ranked adjunct faculty and must involve undergraduate students

Competitive

Maximum of $1,200

October 20: Application due (6 copies)

April 14: Final Report due

 

 

 

 

2. Initiative for Class and Service Activities – up to 2 awards annually to recognize and honor faculty members for providing innovative learning experiences in the classroom/community which enhance undergraduate or graduate education

Project must include at least one full-time faculty or one ranked adjunct faculty and must involve undergraduate and/ or graduate students

Competitive

Maximum of $1,200

 

October 19: Application due (6 copies)

April 14: Final Report due

 

D.  SABBATICAL LEAVE

 

 

 

 

Sabbaticals – provide faculty members the opportunity for personal reflection as well as for professional and/or scholarly development

Full-time faculty ( excluding librarians) beginning in his/her 7th year of continuous service at the University

Contingent on staffing and scheduling requirements.

Options:

  1. one semester leave at full salary and benefits, or
  2. two semester leave at half salary and full benefits

November 1 - Application form due Nov 1 of AY prior to the year of sabbatical

February 1 – Recipients announced.

 

E.  UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH/ SCHOLARSHIP TRAVEL FUND
