Staff Positions

Dominican University of California is seeking a dynamic individual for a Director of Assessment position. The Director of Assessment leads and develops a comprehensive institutional assessment plan to support the University’s mission and strategic initiatives. A primary focus of the Director position includes degree program assessment as well as co-curricular assessment. The Director designs and implements assessment training programs and interprets results. The position requires exceptional relationship building skills with an understanding of the complexities of academia.

 

Dominican University of California is seeking a dynamic individual for an MBA Recruiter position. As part of an established graduate and adult admissions recruitment team, this position will work to recruit, evaluate, and admit graduate students to the MBA program.

 

Dominican University of California is seeking a dynamic fundraising leader for a Director of Development position. This position will offer a talented Advancement professional the opportunity to play a leadership role in developing and implementing advancement strategies as part of the university’s campaign and philanthropic goals.   Confidence and experience working with high net worth individuals and senior level executives is critical.  The successful candidate for this position should have a track record  of exercising sound judgment and be comfortable working both collaboratively and independently with colleagues in University Advancement to achieve fundraising goals for the University.

 

Dominican University of California is seeking a dynamic fundraising professional for an Associate Director of Development position. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Advancement, the Associate Director of Development will be responsible for developing and implementing advancement strategies for a portfolio of assigned prospects: half for discovery and qualification and half for cultivation and solicitation.  This position will create fundraising strategies for those prospects, cultivate relationships with donors, and solicit gifts. In addition, the successful candidate for this position should be comfortable working both collaboratively and independently and exercising sound judgment to develop new relationships and implement an effective strategy for solicitation. The Associate Director will be assigned fundraising initiatives that span areas of priority for the University.

 

Dominican University of California is seeking a seasoned, highly professional leader for a senior fundraising position as Director of Gift Planning. Reporting to the Vice President, this position is responsible for the engagement, cultivation and solicitation of planned gifts. This position manages Dominican University's overall gift planning program.  Additionally, the successful individual will be required to have substantial knowledge of charitable gift planning vehicles, a proven track record of gift solicitation experience and success, and the ability to strategically engage donors to incorporate Dominican University in their financial and estate plans.  

 

Dominican University of California is seeking a dynamic individual for a Director of Internships and Professional Development position. This position is responsible for providing quality career related internship and other professional development services to undergraduate and graduate students in the Barowsky School of Business. Travel and evening and weekend work is required

          Full-Time Faculty Positions

          Dominican University of California is seeking a dynamic individual for a new full-time, 9 month, tenure-track position to teach courses in the broad area of Management with an emphasis in International Business, Leadership or Strategic Management. The candidate should have an earned doctoral degree (ABDs considered) and an active research agenda to maintain SA (formerly AQ) status as required for AACSB accreditation.

           

          The Department of History at Dominican University of California invites applications for a Modern World Historian (18th century to present) tenure track Assistant Professor to begin August 2015. Applicants should have academic and research experience in two of the following regions: Europe, sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America (Mexico, Caribbean, Central America, or South America), Asia (China, Korea, Japan, or Southeast Asia), South Asia (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh), and the Middle East (including North Africa). Additional areas that are acceptable include Atlantic or Pacific World or Indian Ocean exchange. Subsidiary areas of expertise may include: imperialism and/or colonialism, indigenous history, gender, history of science, or environmental history. The candidate may also teach in our unique first year Big History program. We are a team-oriented department committed to teaching excellence and supportive of faculty and student research. 

           

          Dominican University of California is seeking to fill a full-time (9 month), tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Nursing, School of Health and Natural Sciences. This position commences in Fall 2015.  The successful candidate's primary responsibilities will include undergraduate teaching in the area of Medical-Surgical Nursing.   Tenure and promotion requirements for tenure-track faculty include teaching, scholarship, and service. Opportunities exist for research and teaching collaboration within the School of Health and Natural Sciences.

           

          Dominican University of California is seeking to fill a full-time (9 month), tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Nursing, School of Health and Natural Sciences. This position commences in Fall 2015.  The successful candidate's primary responsibilities will include undergraduate teaching in the area of Psychiatric/ Behavioral Health Nursing.   Tenure and promotion requirements for tenure-track faculty include teaching, scholarship, and service. Opportunities exist for research and teaching collaboration within the School of Health and Natural Sciences.

           

          Dominican University of California is seeking dynamic candidates for two 9-month, full-time tenure-track faculty positions beginning in August 2015.  Candidates should have 3-5 years of clinical and academic experience, an earned post-professional doctoral degree, and potential for scholarly and research endeavors. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in their area of expertise and across the curriculum, advise students, mentor capstone projects, maintain an active scholarly agenda, and engage in department and university service. We are also seeking candidates with leadership and administrative experience for an assistant director position. 

           

          Dominican is seeking an entry level Assistant Professor, tenure-track, beginning Fall 2015. The successful candidate will teach a broad array of courses in literature, composition, and possibly creative writing. In addition to offering majors in both English and Creative Writing, the Department of Literature and Languages supports the University’s General Education program, Adult Degree Completion program, and the interdisciplinary M.A. in Humanities. Workload is 4/3.

           

          Adjunct Faculty Positions

          The Occupational Therapy Department at Dominican University of California is seeking interested applicants for an ongoing recruitment for instructors to teach Occupational Therapy courses in all practice areas: pediatrics, physical disabilities, and mental health, undergraduate and graduate occupational therapy classes.


          Dominican University of California is seeking experienced, dynamic individuals to fill several adjunct faculty positions for its newly established Master’s Program in Clinical Laboratory Sciences (CLS). Instructors will be needed for the Summer 2014 through Spring 2015 semesters.

           

          Dominican University of California is seeking an experienced nurse in Maternity and Newborn Nursing with a minimum of a BSN to serve as a clinical faculty. This is an 8-10 hour commitment weekly every semester for 16 weeks overseeing the clinical development of 8 students in a labor and delivery nursing rotation. 

           

          Dominican University of California is seeking an experienced nurse in care of children and families with a minimum of a BSN to serve as a clinical faculty in Pediatrics. This is a 8-10 hour commitment weekly every semester for 16 weeks overseeing the clinical development of 8 students in a pediatric nursing rotation. 

           

          Dominican is seeking an experienced, dynamic individual to teach Forensic Psychology during the Spring 2015 academic term.  Wednesday 6:00-8:00 is the preferred time slot for this course.

           

          The Counseling Psychology Department at Dominican University of California is seeking an adjunct professor to teach Professional Ethics and Law.  Class meets once per week for 10 weeks during the Spring 2015 semester.
