Assistant Professor of Nursing, Community Health

Dominican University of California is seeking to fill a full-time (9 month), tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Nursing, School of Health and Natural Sciences. This position commences in Fall 2014. The successful candidate's primary responsibilities will include undergraduate teaching in the area of community health nursing, as well as possibly courses in the new public health undergraduate major. Graduate level teaching is also possible depending on program needs. Tenure and promotion requirements for tenure-track faculty include teaching, scholarship, and service. Opportunities exist for research and teaching collaboration within the School of Health and Natural Sciences.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate nursing classes
  • Advise students
  • Participate in curriculum development and evaluation
  • Participate in departmental committees
  • Supervise student theses/senior projects
  • Contribute to the department and his/her professional field through research, publications and service

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree required, along with a degree in Nursing at any level
  • Must have a current RN license
  • Experience or ability to teach in community health nursing
  • Prior college level teaching experience is highly preferred
