Adjunct Faculty, Comparative Politics: Latin America or Asia

The Department of Political Science and International Studies is an undergraduate department with a focus on teaching. We are looking for applicants who have demonstrated teaching excellence and who are committed to teaching undergraduate students. The Department of Political Science and International Studies of Dominican University of California is seeking an experienced, dynamic individual to teach undergraduate Latin American Politics and/or Politics of Asia for Spring 2014.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a three unit course at Undergraduate level
  • Attend and contribute to faculty meetings, conference calls and other faculty development activities
  • Participate in curriculum development for individual courses and overall program
  • Evaluate and grade student work and provide feedback to students
  • Mentor and advise students on the progress of their projects and coursework
  • Uphold academic performance standards and integrity

Qualifications

  • Masters or Doctoral degree in Political Science with a specialty in comparative politics
  • Area Specialization in Latin America or Asia 
  • Experience teaching at the undergraduate level
