DU Sailing Club
In 2007-2008, Dominican is partnering with the San Francisco Yacht Club in Belvedere to form the DU Sailing Club. The club welcomes all Dominican students and alumni, regardless of their sailing experience.
First-time sailors have access to the SFYC's fleet of easy-to-sail FJ dinghies. You'll learn the basics on the calm waters of Belvedere cove under the watchful eye of expert instructors.
Experienced sailors have the opportunity to participate in collegiate regattas throughout the West Coast. Dominican is now a registered member of the Pacific Coast Collegiate Sailing Conference and is qualified to compete against teams from Stanford, UC Berkeley, UC Santa Barbara, to name just a few.
Practices are during the weekday afternoons at the SFYC. Regattas are during the weekends and can require overnight travel.
