Student Groups
BASIC
Brothers and Sisters in Christ (BASIC) is a student led campus club where participants commit to deepening their lives in Christ through Bible Study and community building. Mentored by a local Baptist minister, Pastor Glenn, student leaders are supported in leading weekly Bible study groups as well as sessions of prayer and worship. Hikes up the hills to praise God at sunrise, or trips to the beach gather students who seek to place Christ at the center of their lives in times of fun and in moments of awesome beauty.
Basic's vision is to do this through growth in our relationship with God, each other, and the community.

- Our mission is to do this through meeting in a relaxed, youth-group like atmosphere and learn about God through sharing our testimonies, helping each other tackle those tough questions about spirituality, and by constantly reaching out to others and the community around us.
- We would like to plan fun activities to get people involved and fellowship together; such as trips to the beach, game nights, bowling and more. We are interested in community service and raising awareness about the tragedy of suicide, specifically on the Golden Gate Bridge.
- Those interested in getting to know God and how the Bible relates to our lives today, those who want to make lasting friendships and bonds and those who want to have a great time should come to BASIC.

SPDI (Students Promoting Dominican Ideals)

SPDI Mission Statement
We the members of Students Promoting Dominican Ideals come together to understand the meaning of each of the four Dominican ideals—prayer/reflection, study, community and service—and learn to put them into practice in our lives through activities such as meditations, study groups, socials and volunteering. By taking part in these activities, we will be able to grow stronger in our faith, our minds, and our hearts. We will truly live out what Dominican University stands for and promotes.
