Message from the President

Dear Students of Dominican University of California,
 
My name is David Ramirez III and I have the privilege to represent you as your ASDU President. I am writing this letter on behalf of ASDU; welcoming you to a fun and exciting year here at Dominican.
 
This year, ASDU has changed its structure by splitting its senate into two boards: Executive and Programming.  The Executive board will focus primarily on student issues that surround the campus while the Programming board will work hard on planning events during the year.  We believe this new structure will allow us to achieve our vision of improving student life for all Dominican students.
 
One goal for ASDU is to gather students to participate in and attend activities throughout the year. We believe this year ASDU will be able to increase participation and revolutionize the Dominican culture.
 
How you may ask? During this past summer, ASDU members diligently worked together to create a calendar filled with fun and exciting activities for students this year. Some of the activities we came up with include: battle of the clubs week, battle of the classes, monthly dances, pizza and ice cream socials, and most importantly, the annual Boat Dance and Penguin Ball. These are just some of the activities we plan to host this upcoming year.
 
Another goal is to heighten the sense of school spirit among our clubs, sports, and within the community. Members of ASDU believe we can bring students together by continuing to provide more opportunities for students to mingle with fellow classmates, faculty, and staff. We believe students should take pride in their University and most importantly, support our sports, clubs, and the community in which we reside.
 
Members of ASDU are open to any suggestions you may have to improve your experience this year. We invite you to attend our weekly Friday meetings in the Fanjeaux Student Union at 4 PM to listen and voice your opinion on issues being discussed.
